First visit to the vet

Tuesday afternoon I had noticed my dog's nose looked a little swollen and a little pussy but I thought that maybe he had just got stung by a bee so I decided not to stress too much about it and just keep an eye on it and later tell Mike about it. Well as I was getting off work Tuesday evening Mike texted me and told me Bam had little bumps all over his body like he had been attacked by something. Like some bug bit him or stung him. When I got home Mike had already given him some benadryl but he looked so bad that we decided if he wasn't better by the next morning we needed to take him to the vet. I was not so excited about this because I have never had to take a dog to the vet before and I would have to do it alone. Plus he's a pit bull and even though he is the sweetest dog I still worry he might get aggressive with people he doesn't know and I wont be able to handle him by myself. Well he wasn't any better when the morning came in fact he was worse. :( I felt so bad for him. So I got in to see the vet and I asked him if the think on his nose had anything to do with the bumps like maybe he was having an allergic reaction to something and the vet told me no. They were two separate things. The bumps were hives and the thing on his nose was actually a skin infection! I was very proud of my dog and myself! He did very well with the doctor. A little nervous but he wasn't aggressive at all. I think I under estimate my dog too much :) I did well too. I stayed calm which in turn helped Bam stay calm I think! So now we have him on 2 different antibiotics that he has to take. 8 pills a day! Poor guy! BUT he does pretty good with that as well. I love my dog! I hope he feels better soon!
